Mandatory exams and elective disciplines
The list of disciplines that must be passed at any cost traditionally includes the Russian language and mathematics. Although from 2017 they are going to add one more compulsory subject to these subjects. True, it is not yet known what kind of object this is. There are several candidates for this role: foreign language, social studies, physics and history.
Today we know that you need to take only four exams: two mandatory and two optional. The graduate must determine his elective subjects himself, depending on what specialty at the university he plans to enroll in.
The list of elective Unified State Examinations for 2017 consists of 12 subjects:
- literature;
- story;
- social science;
- biology;
- physics;
- chemistry;
- geography;
- computer science and ICT;
- English;
- German;
- French;
- Spanish.
Time of the Unified State Examination in 2017
Exams in all subjects will begin as usual at 10 am local time. The time allotted for passing the examination tests also remained unchanged:

Minimum scores for the Unified State Exam in 2017
The minimum number of points based on the results of the Unified State Examinations is different for those graduates who simply want to receive a certificate and for those who plan to enter a university.

Changes and innovations in the Unified State Exam 2017
As mentioned above, it is planned to add one more to the two mandatory subjects for passing the Unified State Exam, but which one is unknown.
A rather important change that affected the content of examination tests is the abolition of the test part for several subjects at once. Thus, tests have been canceled not only in Russian language and mathematics, but also in “oral” subjects. The test part of the exam remains only in the Unified State Exam in a foreign language.
An innovation that speaks of the improvement of the Unified State Exam and its attempt to keep up with the times is passing the Unified State Exam in computer science and ICT on a computer.
Since 2017, the oral part “Speaking” has been introduced for exams in foreign languages. Now foreign languages will need to be taken 15 minutes longer - that’s how long the oral part will last. In addition to foreign languages, there is an idea to also introduce an oral part in the Unified State Exam in history, literature and social studies, but for now this is only in the draft. And in test mode, the oral part of the Russian language exam will be tested. Thus, in some regions of Russia, the Russian language exam in 2017 will include an oral part.
Thus, there are no cardinal and unexpected changes in the 2017 Unified State Examination. And those innovations that have been implemented are obviously aimed at improving the examination testing system. The official Unified State Exam schedule for 2017 has already been approved and known. All that remains is to prepare well and show a decent level of knowledge!
Good luck with exams!
On its official website, Rosobrnadzor announced that it had prepared an updated draft schedule for the Unified State Exam, Unified State Exam and State Examination for 2017. The exams will be held in three stages: early, main and additional.

On October 3, Teacher's Newspaper will turn 95 years old. Throughout its history, the country's main pedagogical publication has undergone many changes and was able to overcome many obstacles. About the struggle for circulation and endless dedication to the cause - in the article by Vyacheslav Ogryzko.
In Sicily, it is customary to take a simpler approach to education; you can freely consult with teachers about something personal, and instead of lessons you are allowed to go on... a strike. Not an island, but a teenager's dream! Is it so? All the pros and cons of studying in southern Italy are in the article by Maria Plekhanova.
“The teachers of that generation were distinguished by their unselfishness, love for children, and a different attitude towards work. Now it’s very difficult, because children are spoiled, everyone has a telephone, no one wants to speak Russian. But they could speak quite nicely and convey this high culture Russian literature and beyond,” Andrei Urgant reflects on the teachers of his childhood and modern schoolchildren. In 2018, the early period of the Unified State Exam will be held from March 21 to April 11, the main period - from May 28 to July 2.
The Unified State Exam in 2017 will not undergo significant changes, except for the abandonment of the test part in three more academic subjects (chemistry, biology and physics), information security measures during examinations will be maintained, and the use of new technologies will be expanded. Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science Anzor Muzaev spoke about this at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.The early stage of the Unified State Examination in 2017 will be held from March 23 to April 14. The main period is from May 29, 2017 to July 1. Acceptance of applications for participation in the Unified State Exam 2017 ends on February 1. According to Anzor Muzaev, in 2017, more than 5.5 thousand examination points and almost 50 thousand audiences will be used for the Unified State Examination. The development of new technologies for conducting the Unified State Examination will continue, including printing exam materials and scanning participants’ answer forms in PES: the share of such PES will increase in 2017 to 40%. The coverage of PES by online video surveillance will be increased from 83% in 2016 to 90% in 2017, and public monitoring of Unified State Exam procedures will be strengthened.
“We can state that the conduct of the Unified State Examination has completely settled down, the procedure for conducting the exam has been worked out, and Rosobrnadzor has received almost no proposals to change anything in the Unified State Examination,” said Anzor Muzaev.
He spoke about the resources created by the Federal Service to help graduates prepare for the Unified State Exam: the Unified State Exam portal, an open task bank, information materials on the FIPI website, explanatory videos from the developers of Unified State Exam tasks and others. Anzor Muzaev said that this year Rosobrnadzor will pay special attention to working with parents of graduates.
“We believe that it is no less important than graduates to give all the necessary information about the Unified State Exam to their parents. We need to work with adults even more than with the schoolchildren themselves, so that they can correctly orient and set up their children, explain how to organize preparation, and help their child cope with anxiety,” he said.
To this end, on February 7, an all-Russian campaign “Unified Day of Passing the Unified State Exam by Parents” will be held. Parents will be able to go through all the exam procedures themselves, register, fill out forms, see how control is organized at the Unified State Exam, how exam materials are printed and processed, and write a short exam paper made up of tasks similar to those on the Unified State Exam. About 50 regions of Russia will take part in the event, and similar events will be held in several more regions later.
In addition, the head of Rosobrnadzor, Sergei Kravtsov, will hold an All-Russian meeting with parents of graduates of grades 9 and 11 on February 15, during which he will answer their questions about the organization of exams.
Director of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements Oksana Reshetnikova spoke about the content of the examination materials that will be offered to Unified State Examination participants in 2017. According to her, the content of the Unified State Exam in 2017 will remain unchanged, but the form of submission of a number of tasks will change. This is due, first of all, to the refusal of the test part in the Unified State Exam in three subjects. New forms of tasks have undergone preliminary testing and expert discussion.
Alexandra Fokina, Associate Professor of the Department of Developmental Psychology at Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University, shared tips on how to create the right psychological attitude among graduates when preparing for the Unified State Exam and during exams.
