He also published a video in which the concert hosts announced the artist’s hospitalization.
Childhood and youth
Nikolai Rastorguev was born on February 21, 1957 in the village of Bykovo near Moscow into a simple working-class family. Father Vyacheslav Nikolaevich earned his living by turning the steering wheel, and mother Maria Alexandrovna was an unsurpassed seamstress, who after the birth of her daughter began working at home.
Dreams about musical career began visiting Rastorguev as a child, after the boy saw the famous film “A Hard Day’s Night,” where he first met the legendary British group The Beatles. Stylish guys singing simple tunes won the heart of the future musician, and soon, together with other boys from the yard, he began to imagine himself in their place. The guys took guitars and tried to compose music, but it didn’t work out.
Nikolai’s dream did not find a response in the soul of his mother, who never tired of repeating to her son that his hearing was far from musical. But even this did not stop the boy from performing for some time as a vocalist in a musical ensemble.
After school, where the guy graduated with C grades, his parents persuaded their son to enter the Moscow Technological Institute of Light Industry. Studying did not inspire Nikolai at all; he soon began to skip classes, preferring the company of friends and entertainment. He did not take into account the integrity and responsibility of the headman, who regularly reported to the dean about students who did not show up for classes.
Rastorguev tried to resolve this issue, but overdid it - the headman ended up in the hospital, and the university teaching staff harbored a grudge against the guy. The future artist failed the next session and was expelled from the institute.
Rastorguev was ready to give 2 years of military service. He saw himself in the ranks of the Airborne Forces, but his dreams were not destined to come true: the guy did not pass the medical examination. The young man’s education and knowledge were enough to get a job as a mechanic at the Aviation Institute.
Music
Best of the day
Absence music education and serious experience did not prevent Nikolai Rastorguev from realizing his childhood dream and becoming a vocalist in several youth groups. In 1978, he became a member of the popular ensemble “Six Young”, famous in the early 70s of the VIA. At that time, there was a serious change in composition in the group, and it was not difficult for Nikolai to make friends with the new members. “Six Young” participated in concerts of Vladimir Vysotsky, which allowed the young performer to study music and performing arts using the example of the legendary artist.
In 1980, they were joined by the still unknown vocalist Valery Kipelov, whose name some time later will be familiar to every lover of Russian rock.
The composition with Rastorguev was a success with listeners, and he soon became famous. Taking advantage of the popularity and recognition of the soloists of the group “Six Young”, in 1980 the new director of the ensemble “Leisya, Song” invited the entire group to join him.
The talent of the guys along with seriousness, creative approach Vitaly Kretov made the group “Leisya, Song” popular, and their song “Wedding Ring” was heard on the radio for a long time.
However, the ensemble was accountable to the Kemerovo Philharmonic and had to comply with the norms and standards prescribed by the state. Their non-compliance - failure to pass the mandatory program - led to the abolition of the team in 1985.
Rastorguev found himself on his own, but did not plan to give up his dream. Already in those years, he began to nurture the idea of his own team, but decided that the time had not yet come, and began going to auditions. The singer was interested in the group “Singing Hearts”, but they refused the talented and experienced soloist. Until 1989, Nikolai was the bass guitarist of the group “Rondo” and the vocalist of the group “Hello, Song!”
In 1989, fate brought Rastorguev together with the talented composer Igor Matvienko. Their views on the future team completely coincided, which marked the beginning of a fruitful and successful union.
The name “Lube” was invented by Nikolai himself; as a child, he often heard various slang words, among them was the word “Lube”, which, in essence, meant “different”. It most accurately characterized the essence of the group, their diversity in styles and genres of performance. Has begun new stage V creative biography a musician who brought him all-Union and then all-Russian fame.
The team became successful literally from the first minutes of their appearance on television, on the night of April 14 in live they performed the song “Old Man Makhno”, which brought popularity to the ensemble and their permanent leader Rastorguev. When creating “Lube”, Nikolai did not even hope for such success; he did not imagine that his creation would interest listeners for 30 years.
The memorable stage image of the soloist was helped to create by the Diva Alla Pugacheva herself, who considered that military-themed songs would go wonderfully with the soloist in a tunic and riding breeches. The artist heeded his colleague’s advice, and soon the entire group appeared on stage in a military role, as evidenced by early photos and video recordings of their performances. The uniform fit the stocky, densely built vocalist (Nikolai’s height is 168 cm, weight – 70-80 kg) like a glove.
Hits from the first albums of the musical group “Atas”, “Don’t be a fool, America!” were heard literally from every window of the vast homeland. The songs “There Behind the Fogs”, “Little Sister”, “Taganskaya Station”, “Horse” and others, which were repeatedly awarded the prestigious Russian music award “Golden Gramophone”, were popular.
Rastorguev became famous, and his services were recognized by the state: in 1997 he received the title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”, and 5 years later he became a People’s Artist.
Later, tracks from the discs “Lube Zone” and “Kombat” enjoyed success with the public. And in the new century, the collections “Half Stations”, “Come on for...”, “Guys of Our Regiment” were released.
The popular performer pleases the audience not only with solo compositions: in a duet with Sofia Rotaru in 1998, Nikolai Rastorguev presented the hit “Zasentyabrilo”. Later there were the songs “Birches”, which the artist sang together with Sergei Bezrukov, “Long” with Lyudmila Sokolova.
The second composition was performed in a duet with Ekaterina Guseva at Rastorguev’s anniversary concert on the occasion of his 55th birthday. And 5 years later, the group “Lube” and Alexander Marshal presented the hit “Tulupchik Hare”.
Movies
Nikolai is also known as a film actor. His career began with a recording of Voznesensky's concert, where he performed with the Rondo group in 1985. In the next film, the artist also appeared before the audience in the image of himself. The film “Lube Zone” directed by Dmitry Zolotukhin was entirely dedicated to the work of the group and their songs. Each composition revealed the story of several people who were influenced by the group in one way or another.
From 1996 to 1997, Rastorguev took part in the filming of the musical television project “Old Songs about the Main Thing,” where he played several comic roles. Later, given the artist’s image, he was often invited to appear in military or crime films. In the film "Check" the actor played the full role of detective Gennady Rastorguev.
In 2015, a large-scale musical project was launched in memory of the great Soviet actress Lyudmila Gurchenko. In the film called “Lyudmila Gurchenko” it was planned to appear in the image of the actor and singer Mark Bernes, who was played by the permanent lead singer of the group “Lube”. The series premiered in the fall of 2015.
Personal life
The popular performer was married twice. Nikolai got married for the first time in his early youth, when he was 19 years old and his bride was 18. The chosen one of the future stage star was Valentina Titova, a neighbor in the yard. The friendship between them began in high school. It was a case of first love leading to marriage. After the wedding, the young people lived in the apartment of Valentina’s parents, and later rented a room in a communal apartment. The couple immediately thought about children - the first-born Pavel appeared in the family.
This marriage lasted 15 years. Talking about his personal life, the singer explains that he does not remember being single, because immediately after his divorce from Valentina, Nikolai took Natalya, his second chosen one, to the registry office.
The artist's bride worked as a costume designer in music group“Zodchie”, which was on tour with the group “Lube”, performing as an opening act. The wedding celebration took place in 1990. In 1994, their boy Nikolai was born.
Rastorguev lives with his family in a country house near Moscow. The eldest son Pavel gave his father a granddaughter, Sophia. Nikolai was informed that he had become a grandfather when the Lyube group gave a concert in London. At first, the singer could not get used to his new status, now his grandfather and Sonya are best friends. The girl is an excellent student at school, attends an art studio and a music school.
The most successful project of Igor Matvienko has been the Lyube group for many years.
The producer is connected with its leader Nikolai Rastorguev not only by creativity, but also by strong friendship. Several years ago, both bought apartments next door in Baden-Baden, Germany, and now, at the first opportunity, they fly to the famous thermal resort to take a breath and heal. During gatherings at their favorite restaurant Nigrum, where every dish is a work of art, men often remember their lives and, of course, their many women. It's time for you, friends, to find out personal history charismatic Nikolai Rastorguev.
Nikolai met his first wife Valentina when he was 15 and she was 14 years old. The meeting took place in their native Lytkarino, near Moscow, during the New Year celebration. A girl in a beautiful dress with waist-length blond hair and blue eyes left Rastorugev no chance - he fell madly in love. She, too, instantly lost her head over him.
That same evening the guys kissed like adults. Prickly, as Valentina nicknamed our hero, became her first man. He did not stand on ceremony with the girl. For example, he immediately forbade her to practice her favorite dances, “so that she wouldn’t raise her legs in front of strangers all her life.” As a result, the plastic beauty obediently abandoned her dream of entering a choreographic school.
Vase with cigarette butts
While the couple was patiently waiting to come of age to go to the registry office, a guy who was already over twenty fell in love with Valentina. The young man did not give her passage. Having learned about this, Nikolai waylaid Valentina’s admirer and got into a fight with him. Although the advantage was clearly not on the side of Prickly, and as a result he was beaten so that there was no living space left on his body, no one else interfered with his beloved.
After the wedding, Vali’s parents took the newlyweds for support - they allocated the spouses a 12-meter room in their apartment and regularly threw in some money. Nikolai then studied at the Moscow Technological Institute of Light Industry. And his first musical experiments, alas, did not bring any income. But when Valentina became pregnant, the question of whether to give birth or not did not even arise. “Of course, give birth! We will help,” the future grandparents said. The boy was named Pasha.
Marrying Valya, Kolya promised that their marriage would last a lifetime.
Soon after his birth, Kolyuchy was expelled from his second year at the institute for fighting. But they invited me to be a soloist in the increasingly popular ensemble “Leisya, Song”. As a result, money problems disappeared. Then the issue of housing was resolved. First, the young family rented a room in a communal apartment in a wooden barracks, and then got their own “one-room apartment” in Lyubertsy.
But as soon as life got better, suddenly the VIA “Leisya, Song” was disbanded for not submitting the program to the artistic council (which seemed unprincipled and frivolous). Nikolai lost his job for four long years.
Valentina got a job as a cleaner in her own house. She got up at five in the morning, scrubbed the spit-stained entrance and elevator and returned to her boyfriends. It happened that the family, waiting for her next salary, sat on soup from bags for several days. And since both Valya and Kolya smoked, they had to collect bulls on the street. They even kept a small vase for finds. Forking out for a pack of cigarettes was an unaffordable luxury.
An unexpected call saved the situation Igor Matvienko. He invited the talented guy to take the place of soloist in new group"Lyube."
Hearing Rastorguev’s powerful voice, Alla Pugacheva invited the team to her “Christmas meetings-89”. Before recording the program, the group, together with Nikolai’s wife, came to the prima donna’s home. She approached Valentina and whispered: “Your man is handsome, take care of him. Only he’s dressed poorly. That sweater of his needs to be changed. A military uniform would suit Kolya very well.” Since then, both the soloist and the musicians began to appear on stage in tunics.
The popular group began a series of concerts and tours. Nikolai, under the pretext of rehearsals, began to stay late at work more and more often. Valentina sensed something was wrong.

Nikolai really seems to have been replaced. He closed himself off and stopped sharing painful things with his wife. And then even more often he began to spend the night at the Rossiya Hotel.
One morning, the wife couldn’t stand it and came to Rastorguev’s hotel. In his room she saw a large bed with obvious traces of a stormy night of love. When asked how to understand this, the artist shrugged, hugged Valya and began to kiss him passionately. The couple made love on the same bed where Nikolai had just somersaulted with another woman.
The next day, the leader of “Lube” honestly admitted to his missus: he had a mistress.
On the verge of life and death
She turned out to be a costume designer from the Zodchie group named Natasha. They met at a concert in Chernigov. IN free time The musicians of the two groups decided to play football, and Natalya went out onto the field with the men. Nikolai was amazed at how the fragile girl deftly accepted one pass after another.
They didn't even exchange phone numbers. However, Nikolai persuaded his producer Igor Matvienko to sign a contract with “Zodchimi” so that “Lube” would perform with them in the same concerts from time to time. Soon Natalya became his secret lover.
When, having challenged her husband to be frank, Valentina found out about everything, she decided to invite them both to dinner. But the conversation in the restaurant did not work out: the homewrecker could not utter a word out of fear. Nikolai and Natalya silently ate a plate of borscht, got up and left forever.
For a month after this, Valentina could not get out of bed. The 14-year-old son they shared with Rastorguev was also having a hard time with his parents’ divorce.

The battalion commander celebrated his second wedding quietly and modestly in the company of Igor Matvienko. The only celebrity guest there was the actress Olga Mashnaya. Natalya sewed her own suit. And to the cafe next to the Moscow House of Cinema, the newlyweds arrived from the registry office in a broken-down “six”.
Soon they got an apartment in Vykhino, where they made a son on an old sofa. The birth, which occurred in the sixth month of pregnancy, was extremely difficult. The baby was born weighing just over a kilogram and 36 centimeters tall.
Pediatricians nursed premature Kolya, named after his star father, for more than a month and did not allow him to be taken out of the hospital.
And after some time, the doctors had to pull Rastorguev Sr. out of the other world. This happened during a family trip to Finland. At night, Natalya woke up and saw her husband sitting on the edge of the bed and wheezing. The singer admitted that he almost couldn’t breathe. Adding that these problems have been tormenting him for a long time.
“I just didn’t want to upset you,” Nikolai lowered his head.
After his return, his wife sent him for examination. It turned out that the leader of “Lube” had poor kidney function for almost a year. And the liquid accumulating there fell... into the lungs! A transplant was required. But the singer did not dare to do it for three years, content with dialysis - a painful procedure when the body is cleansed of toxins over the course of several hours using a special machine. By the way, it was after the long-awaited operation that Rastorguev bought an apartment in the German thermal resort of Baden-Baden, next door to Igor Matvienko.
