"We just lived our own lives ..."
On November 18, at the Educational Theater of the Higher School of Performing Arts, the premiere of a new play by the 3rd year students of the Acting Department (workshop of K. Raikin) "In the Shadow of Brodsky" staged by Svetlana Vasilyevna Zemlyakova (Kuznetsova) took place. The fates of the most interesting representatives of the poetic underground of Leningrad in the 1950s-1980s, the poets of the "kAfey period of Russian literature" (K. Kuzminsky) were shown by the actors vividly, indifferently, vividly.
The performance aroused the most positive emotions in the audience, who enthusiastically followed the life and creative twists and turns of the broken lives of Gleb Gorbovsky, Leonid Aronzon, Oleg Grigoriev, Alexei Khvostenko, Alexander Mironov in the shadow of the great Joseph Brodsky.
What is the play about? About the peculiarities of the poetic happiness of the underground, about that specific joy that accompanied the work of many uncensored poets and was associated with freedom at a time when the corridor of opportunities was narrow, but the poets managed to find spaces where they were left to themselves.
Come and you plunge into this wonderful world and stay a little in the shadow of Brodsky ...

SCENOGRAPHER - it sounds proudly!
At the end of April, the training of listeners under the professional retraining program "Scenography in Contemporary Theater" was completed.
Seven people from different parts of Russia have covered a path equal to six months, dozens of ideas, hundreds of drawings, together with the master of the course - theater artist Boris Leonidovich Valuev and other teachers.
A number of classes ("Arrangement and equipment of the stage", "Technology of artistic and lighting design of a performance", "Technology of production of scenery. Modern theater technologies") were held on the basis of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia and its workshops. The children were able to watch the rehearsal of the “Flames of Paris” ballet and discussed its stage and lighting design.
However, the main work was done in the workshop of the School both on weekdays and on weekends - from morning to evening. The results of this work - a miniature world that the listeners embodied in their models - were evaluated by the final attestation commission.
Chairman of the Commission - Igor Vladimirovich Suvorov, Honored Worker of Culture Russian Federation, head of the artistic and staging part of the main stage of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "State Academic The Bolshoi Theatre Russia ".
Commission members:
Konstantin Arkadievich Raikin, National artist RF, Professor, Artistic Director and Head of the Department of Acting and Directing at a Non-State Educational Private Institution higher education Higher School of Performing Arts;
Boris Leonidovich Valuev, theater artist, Head of the Architectural and Design Workshop "Art Trading Contract";
Yuri Arkadievich Fainkin, Assistant Director of the Russian state theater"Satyricon" named after Arkady Raikin.
Also, young directors were invited to defend the projects in the hope of their fresh "not blurry" look and sharp questions.
The final certification included the presentation of a draft set design for the play based on the selected plays in the form of a model with an explanatory note. All listeners successfully defended their projects, presented their models with dignity, answered the questions of the commission.
“At the final review, the listeners presented to the members of the final attestation commission everything that they managed to do during the autumn and spring sessions and the internship period within the framework of the professional retraining program“ Scenography in Modern Theater ”.
The exposition of each listener included, first of all, a layout of the stage design for a dramatic performance based on a play, which each artist could choose from the proposed twenty plays by such authors as W. Shakespeare, J.-B. Moliere, A. Ostrovsky, A. Chekhov, E. Schwartz.
In these models, in fact, the decorative solutions for the selected literary material were realized, often unexpected and all peculiar.
In addition to the models themselves, their step-by-step photographs were shown, showing all the pictures of scenographic projects. It is the form and method of changes from picture to picture, their spatial and technical structure, their organic nature and artistic expression were also a very important part of our work for us. Many have put up mounting layouts (well done!).
In the exposition, we also included the results of work on additional short-term tasks - clauses, in which, for the most part, even more noticeable than in the main projects, the originality and creativity of the artists were manifested.
I congratulate our entire team of students and teachers on this important result for all of us.
Thanks".
B.L. Valuev
“I am writing these lines with pride and gratitude, because I still feel an inextricable connection with the school. This powerful energy that fed us during our studies opened up new horizons for us in the profession!
Low bow to the teachers of the school and my colleagues, with whom fate brought me together! You will always remain in my heart as the brightest moments in my life. "

A private Higher School of Performing Arts opens in Moscow, its other name is the Konstantin Raikin Theater School. The first to open is the acting department, where the applicant's talent will be the only tuition fee. Then the rest (already paid) will catch up - the faculty of management, sound engineering and lighting engineering. Such a set of specialties is not offered today by any theatrical university in the country. In addition, departments of professional retraining and additional education will open at the Higher School of Arts, where they teach a variety of theatrical specialties - from make-up artist to director of show programs.
Konstantin Raikin told Theater. about the goals and objectives of the new school:
“The idea of creating my own school came to me a long time ago, although for a long time it seemed unlikely. I have been teaching for many years, but one day a milestone appears, after which I want more independence. It seems to me that a well-developed drama theater generally tends to have a school with them: the Vakhtangov Theater or the Moscow Art Theater in the period of their maturity felt the need to create their own school. Now "Satyricon" has also acquired its own style, its own image, and it needs appropriate personnel. This does not mean at all that I will no longer watch the graduation performances of other masters and accept their graduates into the troupe.
In addition, over twenty-five years of artistic leadership, I have accumulated vast experience of communicating with young people - not only with actors, but also with artists, technologists - on all fronts. theatrical activities... After all, a theater is a huge factory with many workshops, and each workshop makes me want to pass on the accumulated experience. So I plan to participate in the work of sound engineering, lighting engineering, and management faculties. Ideally, I would like to have a theater studies faculty - I am absolutely convinced of the need for this profession, but I want to bring into it some kind of lively, loving stream, which, it seems to me, is sorely lacking today. If I see that some student has “director's” brains, I'm ready to study with him separately.
As for acting, I will teach in the same way as I taught at the Moscow Art Theater School, to which I am very grateful: for the instant support of my aspirations by Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov (which I did not meet, for example, at my native Shchukin Institute when I came there with a proposal to dial your own course); for twelve years of joint work with people who are close to me in spirit and a wonderful attitude towards me; for the invaluable experience I gained there. But now I'm going to leave the walls of the Studio School: it seems to me that if there is an opportunity to run an independent business, I should use it. Especially in connection with the current downward trend in creative universities, which I want to resist.
In addition, the relative independence of the private educational institution from the state makes it possible to experiment more freely, to look for new ways of learning and at the same time not to report every second to people of different levels of training who control us on behalf of the state. Although the production parameters will be quite "according to GOST".
If we talk about the training system, then, of course, I will teach according to the Stanislavsky system, as before. Although, if we talk specifically about the actor's reincarnation, then here I am closer to the system of Mikhail Chekhov, who believed that the image is "I" in the proposed circumstances of the role, that the image has nothing to do with the actor at all. You have to imagine this image, ask it many questions, peer into it and thus get closer to it. "
