Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan Performed by Nikita Mikheev
During the autumn holidays I visited Kazan, where I saw a lot of interesting things. My journey began with a ride on a Mercedes bus. Arriving in Kazan, we went to the Kremlin. On its territory there is the Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan. A very interesting exhibition is currently taking place there. I want to tell you about her
At the entrance, all guests are greeted by a cheerful dinosaur named Paramosha. He gives a questionnaire with questions, the answers to which must be sought during a tour of the museum.
The museum has 12 halls. Each room is dedicated to a specific topic and has its own name. The first room is called “Earth and the Universe”. I found this room the most interesting. It tells about solar systems, planets, meteorites. One of the display cases contains meteorites found on the territory of Tatarstan. The largest of them is the Cainsaz meteorite. It received this name because it fell near the village of Kainsaz.
Also in this room there is an interesting electronic field indicating planets, nebulae, and comets. A giant globe of the starry sky indicating the constellations.
A large electronic telescope, looking through which you can see a picture of a planet or nebula.
For example, on Earth my weight is 31 kg, on Mars 26 kg, and on Sirius 440,320,000 kg.
The second hall is called “Minerals of the Earth”. Here I saw real quartz. With the help of Paramoshi’s hint, I learned that the mineral AQUAMARINE means “water of the sea.” And its green brother is called EMERALD.
The third hall is called “The Beginning of the Path.” 600 million years ago, unusual organisms appeared on Earth. Some of them looked like jellyfish, others like fish. The period when they lived is called VENDI.
The fourth hall “The World of Ancient Life”. Fish appeared on Earth more than 300 million years ago. One of them is CEPHALASPIS. It lived in fresh water; the fish looked like a flounder in the arrangement of its eyes, and its massive head helped it burrow into the mud.
Fifth hall “Black Gold of the Planet”. The largest oil field in Tatarstan is called Romashkinskoye. And oil is not black everywhere, but has different colors in different regions. This is a mud volcano and the properties of oil are shown here
Sixth hall “Subsoil storage room”. Here we talk about the use of minerals. For example, gypsum is used in medicine, clay in construction, and coal to generate heat.
Hall 7 “Kingdom of fish and amphibians”. It was believed that the coelacanth fish disappeared 200 million years ago, but in 1938 a discovery was made - they still live today.
Hall 8 “Kazan Sea”. More than 300 million years ago, insects appeared on Earth. An ancient dragonfly, whose wingspan reached 75 cm, is called MEGANEURA.
Hall 9 “The Age of Beast-like Lizards.” Hall 10 “Marine reptiles”. Giant animals lived in the ancient oceans and seas. An animal with long jaws, but not a crocodile, with huge eyes, but not an owl, similar to a dolphin, but not a dolphin. Who is this? ICHTHYOSAUR!
Hall 11 “The Time of Dinosaurs”. More than 200 million years ago, dinosaurs appeared on Earth. The photograph shows the skeleton of TARBOSAUR. Hall 12 “World of Mammals”. The photograph shows the skeletons of a mammoth and a baby mammoth. This is where the excursion ended. I answered all the questions in the questionnaire and received a prize - a photo frame
On the main street Kazan Kremlin, in the very heart Tatarstan, in the building of the former cadet school There is a natural history museum. In 2005, the government of the Republic - with the aim of preserving and promoting the geological heritage of the republic - issued a decree on the creation of a natural history museum Tatarstan. Today, museum exhibitions are located on two floors. On the first floor there are the so-called Space Halls, which tell about the basics of astronomy, meteorites, the structure of the earth’s crust, and the variety of minerals. Six rooms on the second floor house a paleontological exhibition.
Many people have stereotypes about the boringness of visiting such institutions.expectations. Perhaps this attitude is largely justified, but the museum inKazanwill completely change man's understanding of natural history. The great merit of museum workers lies in bringing modern technologies into the seemingly sleepy and boring world of the exhibits located here. Interactive inclusions in the compositions of the complex create an atmosphere of complete immersion in the history of the exhibits.Entering its first halls, dedicated to planets, galaxies and meteorites, guests and residents of the Tatar capital are completely immersed in another world. The stars have been attracting humanity for thousands of years: the museum’s emphasis on this sparks genuine interest among visitors. In this place you have the opportunity to look through a small telescope installed and check your weight on different planets of the solar system - on cosmic scales. Here you can also get acquainted with four meteorites - the very ones that completed their flight in the lands of Tatarstan.
A visual interactive slice of the planet will show the heterogeneous layered structure of the Earth. The Vendian Sea diorama immerses guests in the era of the birth of multicellular organisms 600 million years ago. Installations of the planet's surface in different periods formations in the form of portholes subconsciously turn museum visitors into guests of Captain Nemo, who suddenly discover the other side - a previously unknown side. This mood is especially felt among children, who can wander around the territory for hours. The opportunity to touch, feel and even take an active part makes you completely forget about the current time!
Exhibits“The Black Gold of the Planet” is told and shown to the guests of the complex in a cross-section of oil-bearing layers, mud volcanoes and a bitumen lake. The interactive well will not leave even adults indifferent. The subsoil storage room, based on mock-ups of mines from different historical times, will emphasize the great role of fossils in the development of mankind.
The next room, with an interior reminiscent of a malachite box inside, tells about the variety of minerals with very different properties and external beauty. Other exhibits will tell about the transition of the inhabitants of the seas and oceans to the amphibious kingdom. Unique exhibits The preserved skeletons of ancient amphibians are fascinating, and the interior surrounding them will show the diversity of landscapes of the Kazan Sea 270 million years ago. The era of beast-like lizards that inhabited the Tatar lands in ancient times is recalled by the preserved skeletons of Titanophoneus, Pareiasaurus, and marine reptiles. The interactive installation allows you to see swimming reptiles and even feed them.
A wall-sized holographic screen with walking saber-toothed tigers and a baby mammoth allows you to get the full effect of presence and even pet ancient animals. The assembled skeleton of a mammoth and its calf provides an opportunity to experience the colossal size and power of prehistoric animals.
at the Natural History Museum, located in Kazan, will leave a lasting impression on visitors - both adults and children. Moreover, employees do not prohibit taking photographs and selfies against the backdrop of ancient exhibits. Many come back here more than once and enjoy the visit just as much as the first time!
Museums of Kazan For the lesson of the surrounding world, grade 4 “The world through the eyes of a historian” Completed by Irina Vasilievna Anoshina MBOU “Lyceum No. 83”, Kazan Museum-Reserve “Kazan Kremlin” This is a unique monument of history and culture, which has preserved traces of three eras: Tatar, Russian and European . In ancient times, inside the Kremlin there was a rich Khan's palace, five stone mosques, tombs and burial vaults. The main mosque of Kul-Sharif was decorated with 8 high and multi-tiered minarets. For the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, this mosque was completely recreated based on drawings from the times of the Kazan Khanate. Kazan to last years has become one of the most attractive tourist centers in Tatarstan. Everything about it is interesting, including many museums. It is very convenient that many of them are concentrated in the city center. So no travel time is wasted on viewing them. There are many museums either next to or in the Kremlin itself. Moreover, entrance to the Kremlin is free, and only in each individual museum is it paid for.
Museum
One of these unusual and interesting museums that has won the love of adults and children is the Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan. The address at which it is located coincides with the Khazine National Art Gallery. This is: Kazan, st. Kremlevskaya, house 2. These museums are located in the premises of the former cadet school, which is located along the street that runs inside the Kremlin from the Spasskaya Tower to Tainitskaya.
Museum building
The school was founded in one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six. The author of the project is architect Pyatnitsky. At first, barracks for cantonists were located in the building, and twenty years later a military school was opened here, which then became a cadet school. The facade of the house is built in the Pavlovian Empire style. It has three entrances with forged awnings. When making them, they chose the Chebaksin forging technique. Roses, cornflowers and mascarons are woven into the forging pattern. The staircases here are three-flight and rest on arches and vaults made of brick. Before the revolution, the building had only two floors, and only during the Soviet period was the third floor completed. In the mid-nineties, restoration of the building began, which was successfully completed by the early 2000s.
Now there are several museums located here. In addition to the Khazine National Gallery and the Natural History Museum, several halls are occupied by a memorial museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and a branch of the St. Petersburg “Hermitage” - the exhibition hall “Hermitage-Kazan”.
Description
The Museum of Tatarstan occupies two floors, on which more than one and a half thousand exhibits are presented. They decided to open it in two thousand and five. The purpose of the opening is to preserve the nature of the republic.
It is better to start visiting the museum from the first floor to see the entire period of the birth of the planets, the earth and its inhabitants. All the exhibits are very interesting, and you won’t want to miss any of them.
This floor will be more interesting for those who really love to study everything that is in the depths of our planet and beyond, that is, astronomy and geology. This is the general structure that the Tatarstan Natural History Museum has. A description of each exhibition will introduce tourists closer to the history of the republic and awaken a desire to visit this wonderful historical place. The museum was created on the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic. The project was supported and the first President of Tatarstan Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev became a trustee of the construction
The exhibitions at the Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan are based on rare scientific finds from the collection of the Geological Museum named after. A.A. Shtukenberg under Kazansky state university. Here visitors can visit different rooms.
Halls of space
Using interactive programs, they will introduce astronomy lovers to the basics of this wonderful science. Interactive programs will create an atmosphere of immersion in the history of space objects. Visitors are treated like real space travelers to the world of space. The stars have attracted representatives of the human race for many centuries.
This interest is supported by the museum staff. Here you can also observe the stars with a real telescope and check how much a visitor would weigh on other planets. For this purpose, the museum has installed special space scales. Also here, visitors will be shown real meteorites that once fell on the territory of Tatarstan. The exhibitions located here will tell you about the structure of the earth's crust and the huge variety of minerals on our planet. An amazing interactive cross-section of the planet, in which the winners see what layers our Earth consists of.
This exhibition should popularize knowledge about how diverse the world of minerals on the planet is.
"Black Gold of the Planet" is a series of exhibits that introduce visitors to oil layers, a bitumen lake and mud volcanoes.
No less interesting is the hall in the form malachite box, which educates visitors about different minerals. This room is called the “Subsoil Pantry”.
Halls for animal lovers
What else is good about the Natural History Museum of Tatarstan? Here you are allowed to take photos of both some of the exhibits and yourself against their background. This distinguishes this museum from all others; where there are paintings, photographs cannot be taken. The second floor gradually takes visitors into the animal world.
The paleontological exhibition, housed in six halls, is also very interesting. The Vendian Sea diorama shows the period of the era when multicellular organisms arose on the planet. This happened six hundred million years ago.
The “Beginning of the Journey” hall introduces visitors to the inhabitants of the seas of that period. Particularly fascinating are the exhibits of preserved skeletons of amphibians that lived in the ancient seas. With the help of interactive programs, any visitor can observe the gradual transition of amphibians to land. Such expositions as “The Kingdom of Fishes and Amphibians”, “The Kazan Sea”, “Marine Reptiles”, “The World of Mammals” and others will be of interest to all lovers of the animal world.
Children are especially delighted with the skeletons of Titanophoneus, Pareiosaurus and marine reptiles. The interactive program even allows you to feed them. The hologram on the entire wall is mesmerizing, along which saber-toothed tigers and mammoths walk. Visitors get the full experience among huge prehistoric animals that you can even pet.
