Completing task 15.3 most often causes difficulty for graduates: they cannot always give a clear answer to the question, what is... (maternal love? Friendship? Patriotism?). Therefore, it is necessary to begin preparing students to perform this type of task as early as possible.
We present to your attention a summary of the lesson in which such preparation for an essay on the topic “What is patriotism” is organized.
In order for eighth-graders to successfully complete the task, they are asked to draw up a mind map, a sample of which is given at the end of the notes. The map that students make in class may differ from the one located at the end of the notes. The thought process itself is important.
Of course, you will see that the first two paragraphs of the argumentative essay are written by students in class, and the third to fifth paragraphs (argumentation and conclusion) are written independently at home. This is due to the fact that the interpretation of the word (1 paragraph) and commentary on the ethical concept (2 paragraph) still cause difficulties for eighth-graders.

I . Teacher's word
- 70 years ago the Great Patriotic War ended. And today's lesson is dedicated to the feat of ordinary soldiers, who, at the cost of their lives, gave us a peaceful sky above our heads...
- Reading a poem by a student:
Are children born for death, Motherland?
Did you want our death, Motherland?
The flame hit the sky - do you remember, Motherland?
She said quietly: “Get up to help...” - Motherland!
We fell into the snow from a running start from the lead rods.
But - they rose to their height, sonorous - like victory!
As a continuation of the day, we walked hard and powerfully...
You can kill me, we can't be killed
!
(R. Rozhdestvensky)
- The amazing lines of Robert Rozhdestvensky take us to the menacing forties.
- What is this poem about?
- What do you think will be the key word in our lesson? (patriotism - love for the Motherland ).
- Write it down in the center of your notebooks in which you are preparing to write essay 15.3. and in which you make mind maps.
- Can you formulate the topic of today's lesson? (Writing an essay 15.3 on the topic “What is patriotism »)
- That's right, just write the essay at home, and in class we will do the preparatory work.
II . Step-by-step preparation for homework essay 15.3 using a mind map
1. Working with text (Appendix, page 3)
- Let's read the text by Yuri Yakovlevich Yakovlev “Sons of Pedshekhodov”, on which you will have to write essay 15.3 at home.
- Here is a text that we will read by role. While reading it, find the answer to the question, what is the topic and main idea of this text.
( reading by role: narrator, grandfather of Pedestrians, child)
(1) When they write an essay about the war at school, the teachers know: someone in their notebook will definitely have Peshekhodov’s sons - Semyon and Vasily. (2) The sons will either throw themselves under the tank, or find themselves in burning Stalingrad, or save the regimental banner.
(3) And, having read, for example, that Semyon and Vasily were the first to ram the fascist Messer, the teachers are not indignant. (4) They know what's going on.
(5) On Sundays, an old man with faded eyes appears in crowded places in the town. (6) The old man is wearing a soldier’s tunic, apparently acquired for the occasion from a demobilized man, because his own, the front one, had long ago dissolved in the rain, in sweat, in the rays of the sun, in soap foam.
(7) Pedestrians do not linger among adults: his best friends and listeners are children. (8) These bombard him with questions, which he answers with great eagerness.
(9) Moreover, he waits for these questions and, answering them, experiences an amazing feeling, familiar only to a drying tree, when buds appear on its gnarled dead branch or a leaf suddenly turns green.
- (10) Grandfather of Pedestrians, it’s true that you walked to Berlin during the war ? - one of the little interlocutors asks the old man.
(11) And the old man answers:
- (12) Walked to Berlin... on foot. (13) And that’s why my last name is Peshekhodov.
(14) Gradually the circle of listeners is increasing. (15) Newcomers and those who have already listened to Grandfather Peshekhodov many times come.
- (16) Grandfather of Pedestrians , - the guys ask for the umpteenth time, -and who met the Germans near the Bug on the first day of the war?
- (17) My sons, Semyon and Vasily , - the old man answers as if for the first time.
- (18) And who stood in Stalingrad until their last breath?
– (19) My sons, Semyon and Vasily.
– (20) And who fell chest-first into an enemy embrasure?
- (21) My sons…
(22) And then, as if wanting to ask the old man a problem, someone always asks:
- (23) How did they get to Berlin, if their chest is on the embrasure, and there is a machine gun?
(24) No, you won’t hit the old man!
- (25) They rose from the embrasure and walked on “,” he answers calmly, and such unshakable confidence appears in his eyes that, of course, none of the listeners dare to doubt the old soldier’s words.
(26) And by that time new questions are already ready, and the old man answers them with restraint
and worthy.
- (27)Aon the Kursk Bulge who detained the “tigers” and “Ferdinands”?
- (28) My sons…
- (29) Who raised the Red Banner over the Reichstag in Berlin?
- (30) My sons…
- (31) Did you keep up with everything?
- (32) Everywhere. (33) They walked and walked without rest, but did not have enough strength to return home from the war.
- (34) Still haven't returned?
- (35) They never returned. (36) They sleep in the grave.
(37) At the word “grave,” the guys seem to catch their breath, and then one of them decides to ask:
- (38) Where is their grave?
(39) The old man straightens up and says:
- (40) My sons sleep in all the soldiers' graves. (41) Throughout our native land.
(42) And because the sons of grandfather Peshekhodov sleep in all the mass graves, children’s hot minds again turn them into epic heroes, ready to wake up when the hour strikes...
(According to Yu. Yakovlev* )
*Yuri Yakovlevich Yakovlev – Soviet and Russian writer, public figure.
- What is Yu. Yakovlev’s story “Sons of Pedshekhodov” about? (theme of the story - a feat of Russian soldiers who defended the country from fascism)
- Why does the father of his dead sons, straightening his shoulders, say that “they sleep in all the soldiers’ graves”? Is that possible?
- What is the main idea of the story? (Their feat is immortal )
- What is the basis of their feat? (love to motherland )
- Why were we able to defeat the fascist army, which we could not resist? Western Europe? (thanks to the great love for the Motherland )
2. Drawing up a mind map
- Replace the phrase "love to motherland » synonymous word (PATRIOTISM )
- Write this word in the center of the notebook sheet.
- What's behind this word?
- What information does it have?
- Select key noun words, giving an interpretation of the word PATRIOTISM (PRIDE, LOVE, DEDICATION, ATTACHMENT, ASPIRATION)
- Can we expand the keywords? (love for the Fatherland, devotion to the Motherland, pride in the past and present of the country; the desire to serve the interests of Russia, to protect the country from enemies, to serve, attachment to the native land, traditions and customs, to the language )
(During the work, an intelligence map is drawn up)
3. Working with dictionaries
- Let's turn to the Appendix, which contains dictionary entries from different dictionaries.
Exercise:
- Read these dictionary entries yourself and compare the mind map we have compiled with the definition of the word in various dictionaries.
- Look, have we written down all the words that allow us to interpret the word PATRIOTISM in the mind map?
- Compare the mind map drawn up in class with the one given on the slide. Have we written everything?
- Notice Peter's wordsI. How do you understand the meaning of the statement?

1. THESIS (word definition)
broad interpretation of the proposed word
It is impossible to unequivocally answer the question: what are life values? How many people, so many opinions. Many people include money, property, and profitable work as their life values. But for most people, fortunately, the values in life are family, friends, the health of loved ones, honesty, loyalty and much more.

2. COMMENT

in the text proposed for analysis
I am sure that the most important values are moral ones. A good person will never exchange friendship for luxury goods, and will never do evil. Family and good relationships in it are important to him. Family and love for people are a priority in the list of life values of a decent person. I will prove my point of view with arguments from A. Aleksin’s text and my own experience.

3. Skrepa (logical transition).EXAMPLE 1 (from text)
Firstly, the writer talks about the very strong love of parents for their child: they do not scold him for getting grades or for fighting, but, on the contrary, praise him. Reading the text, we feel the hero’s love and respect for his older sister Lyudmila (5-7, 32-33). The boy doesn’t like that his sister is “bypassed” by his parents. He wants Lyudmila to be praised, not him.

4. Skrepa (logical transition).EXAMPLE 2 (from life experience)
Secondly, I will turn to my reading experience - to the parable “The Garden of the Wise Man”. It tells about a Tibetan monk who dedicated his life to serving the Buddha. One day he noticed that many monks are sinners: some are angry, others deceive each other, others are lazy, others are selfish. And the monk went to the Sage to find out how to behave with those who sin. The sage listened to him and took him to his garden. He showed the flowers to the guest, describing them. So they stopped near a prickly and ugly cactus. “It is also needed: it is suitable for animal feed and blooms very beautifully,” said the Sage. And the monk realized that we must love all people, because everyone is good and beautiful in their own way. Love for people is one of the main values in life.

How to start?
Give an interpretation of the word, that is explain the word more broadly
(you can use mind maps)
Friendship is a selfless personal relationship between people based on trust, sincerity, mutual sympathy, common interests and hobbies.
Compassion – This sympathy caused by the misfortune or misfortune of another person or animal. Compassion must be effective, must be manifested in good deeds, in helping those in need.
Start with a question and answer to this question
What's happened humanity ? In my opinion, humanity - This is the moral quality of a person. People with this quality respect others, sympathize with them, and come to the rescue in difficult times.
Start with someone's statement and comment on it
What's happened compassion ? The Russian writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky answered this question very precisely: “Compassion is the highest form of human existence.”
Let's start with a little discussion about the relevance and vitality of this ethical concept.
Life values Everyone has their own: some have material ones, others have moral ones. Some people need money, cars, jewelry, power... But most people need more important moral values: friendship, love, happiness, health of loved ones, native land, honor, human dignity...
What to write in the comment (paragraph 2)?
When explaining the word proposed for the essay, dwell on one key phrase that is revealed in the text
In my opinion, moral values cannot be replaced by material ones, because friendship, love, good relations between family cannot be bought for any money. It is love and care for each other that underlie a prosperous family, and friendship allows one to overcome any obstacles. Let us prove this thesis with examples from the text proposed for analysis by A.G. Aleksin and our personal experience.
How to connect thesis and commentary?
I think,
I guess, that…
In my opinion,
I'm sure (I'm sure)
How to link comments and arguments?
You can link commentary and argumentation with these sentences
To confirm what has been said, let us analyze the proposed text ( author ) and life observations.
Let's try to understand the meaning of this ethical concept.
To prove my point of view, I will turn to the text I read and life experience.
To support my point of view, I can provide the following evidence.
How to introduce arguments into an essay?
There are several options. Try what you like best. It is possible that you will come up with something of your own.
Argument 1: In the text of the name you can find an argument confirming my idea. Yes, in a sentence № …
Argument 2: We encounter manifestations of (what?) in Everyday life. For example,
Argument 1: To confirm what has been said, let’s take sentence No.... It says that...
Argument 2: Of course, in life around us we often come across examples that confirm the idea expressed. So, I have witnessed more than once how...
Argument 1: I would like to begin the argumentation of the above thesis with an example from the text I read.
Argument 2: In addition, I will refer to my own experience.
What is an argument from experience?
1. Thisgeneralization of some life facts:
- a life story that happened to you;
- a life story that happened to your friend;
- a life story that happened to your parents or their friends.
2. Thisreferring to a book you have read, dedicated to this topic.
3. Thisreference to the film in which this topic is discussed.
4. Thisappeal to historical facts, which you know.
5. Maybe, this will be an appeal to some interesting brightpoem, dedicated to the topic proposed to you. In this case, it must be quoted.
How to complete an essay?
The conclusion must be written, always using speech signals for completing the work. These can be various clamps.
Think , We are convinced that humanity is, first of all, good deeds that help people who find themselves in difficult life situations.
Thus , we can conclude: moral values are real. Only the love and care of loved ones and the faithful shoulder of a friend allow a person to feel confident.
Considering two arguments , we came to the conclusion: family is the most important life value. There is nothing better than the confidence that your family and friends are waiting for you at home. And no amount of money can replace this!
All that has been said convinces us that...
To summarize what has been said , we can conclude: humanity is necessary in modern world, because…

PATRIOTISM
1.
What is patriotism? Patriotism is, first of all, selfless love for the homeland, the desire to serve the interests of the Motherland, to protect it from enemies. Patriotism awakens in us feelings of attachment to our native land, language, culture and traditions.
I am sure that love for the Motherland is one of the most important moral values of a person. We should be proud of the country's glorious past, proud of our relatives who protected us during the war. I will prove my point of view with arguments from Yuri Yakovlev’s text and my own experience.
To prove the correctness of the stated thesis, I will turn to the dialogue between Pedestrians and children listening to stories about the old man’s sons. This dialogue talks about the exploits of his sons. It is the memory of them, of their heroic death that is the source of patriotism for Grandfather Peshekhodov’s little listeners. He is proud of his sons, they are epic heroes who defeated the enemy, and he passes on this pride to his children.
To confirm how I understand the word “patriotism”, I will give an example from life. My great grandfatherPhilip Borisovich Gaikalov fought, was wounded, lost comrades, but returned home. He told how on December 25, 1944, in an offensive battle for the village of Sarkerestes (Hungary), he was among the first to burst into an enemy trench, destroy 6 Nazis with grenades and machine gun fire. With his decisive actions, he ensured the advancement of his troops, for which he received the medal “For Courage.”
I think we are convinced that patriotism is, first of all, actions that are performed for the benefit of one’s small homeland, country, and the world.
Kunitsyna Milena, 8 “A” grade
2.
Patriotism is the feeling of love that a person experiences for his homeland. This is respect for its history, traditions, devotion to the people, affection for the language. This is selfless love for the Fatherland.
In my opinion, patriotism is, first of all, devotion to one’s homeland. After all, our ancestors fought to defend the Fatherland, sacrificed themselves for the sake of the people. To support my point of view, I will give examples from the text of Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and life experience.
Firstly, patriotism is manifested in many ways in the text: in the speech of grandfather Peshekhodov (40, 41), in the words of the author (1, 2), in the questions and writings of children. The words of grandfather Peshekhodov (40) especially stand out, which, of course, are a clear confirmation of his boundless love for the Motherland: all the soldiers who died in the war are his sons. This collective image allows the author to convey the power of love for the Fatherland of those who died defending us...
Secondly, a striking manifestation of patriotism in our time is the Victory Parade, held on May 9 on Red Square. It is held in honor of the Great Victory over fascism to honor the memory of Soviet citizens who died on the fronts for our lives.
Thus, I can conclude that patriotism exists in every person who respects his homeland.
Yasenko Dmitry, 8 “A” grade
3.
The word “patriotism” in V.I. Dahl’s dictionary is deciphered as love for the fatherland. How does this love manifest itself? I think patriotism is not only the Victory Parade on May 9. This is something more: this is the memory of the heroic past of the country, this is the willingness to give life for a peaceful sky above the country...
I believe that in our time we have begun to forget the feat that our great-grandfathers accomplished. People often began to think only about themselves. It is necessary to pass on the history of the Victory from generation to generation. This is the origin of patriotism.
In the text by Yu.Ya. Yakovlev you can find an example that confirms my idea. Grandfather Pedestrians, telling the children about the war, does not even notice how he ends up there, next to his sons at the front. He rushes into battle again and again, again grieves for all the dead soldiers, calling them his sons. And again he talks about the mass graves in which his sons are buried.
We often see manifestations of patriotism in films about war, we read about it in books and history textbooks: heroes bravely rush to the enemy, defending their native land. Everyone at the front knew that the entire Motherland was now behind him and that he had no right to make a mistake, no right to retreat. Rimma Kazakova writes about them, who fell but did not surrender to the enemy:
They lay down on field battle ,-
Live beginners barely .
And the sky was blue
there was green grass...
Thus, we have proven that patriotism is in the heart of each of us. Love for the Motherland must be cultivated from childhood.
Osadchenko Anastasia, 8 “A” grade
4.
What is patriotism? There is no clear answer to this seemingly simple question. First of all, it is selfless love for the Fatherland and pride in its past and present, the willingness to give one’s life for it and devotion to the Fatherland and people, attachment to one’s native land, traditions, and language.
I believe that patriotism as a phenomenon was, is and will always be relevant: a person never ceases to love his Motherland, and this love will never fade away! I want to prove my point of view by referring to the text of Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and life experience.
First, sentences 16-42 talk about greatest love to the homeland of the sons of Peshekhodov. They are not afraid to rush into an embrasure or stop a tank. They do everything to protect their Fatherland. Of course, the sons of Peshekhodov are a generalized image that includes all the soldiers who died heroically defending their Motherland.
Secondly, I think it is necessary to say something about the country’s most important holiday – Great Victory Day. As expected, on May 9 we will go to a rally. Everyone will come in full dress uniform, with St. George ribbons. This black and orange ribbon symbolizes smoke and fire. Previously, it was awarded along with the Order of St. George. Now this ribbon is a symbol of Victory. Every self-respecting person will definitely wear it throughout May, bowing to the memory of those who saved the world from fascism.
Concluding this essay, I would like to call on all Russians to observe traditions, know history and love their country, because patriotism is one of the most important moral values.
Bogachenko Vladislav, 8 “A” grade
5.
What is patriotism? Maybe this means being Russian and living in the same country? No! Patriotism is love for the Motherland, it is responsibility for its future, it is a sense of duty and respect for the past and present of the Fatherland.
I am sure that patriotism is one of the most important values in life. After all, when you love your Motherland, you are ready to sacrifice yourself for it. When you have responsibility for the future of the country, there is a sense of duty, the Motherland is safe. A person must love his native land, because it is in everyone’s heart, forming an integral part of a full-fledged personality. In my opinion, without patriotism neither individual states nor the whole world could exist. I will prove my point of view with examples from the text of Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and my own experience.
In the text offered to us for analysis, it is possible to find an argument confirming the thesis. So, in sentences 1-2 we see that Peshekhodov’s sons - Semyon and Vasily - are known by everyone and are often remembered, since they are patriots! They gave their lives to save their homeland.
My point of view is confirmed by literary work. In Leo Tolstoy’s novel “War and Peace,” Pierre Bezukhov wants to be useful in the fight against the enemy. And although he is not trained in military affairs and is not ready for battle, he does not sit back at home, but goes to the very center of the battle. This is where his patriotism manifests itself.
Thus, we came to the conclusion: patriotism is an integral part human soul, without which there can be neither a peaceful sky overhead, nor confidence in the future, nor a bright future.
Elfimova Natalya, 8 “A” class
6.
What is patriotism? Patriotism is, first of all, love for one’s Motherland, awareness of its value and significance in the life of each of us.
I believe that patriotism is an integral part of our soul, it is love and devotion to our Fatherland. After all, if it were not for patriotism, there would not be a peaceful sky above our heads. To confirm what has been said, let us analyze the proposed text by Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and life observations.
I would like to begin the argumentation of the above thesis with an example from the text I read. After reading sentences 39-41, you can notice one detail: “Grandfather Pedestrians straightened up.” Why? It’s not for nothing that the author used this word in his text. Apparently, because he, like no one else, is proud of his sons and we can say with confidence that they died in the name of the Fatherland, in the name of their entire native land.
In addition, I will refer to my own experience. January 17 is the day of the liberation of our village of Kamenka from the Nazi invaders. According to tradition, on this day we lay wreaths at the bust of Vasily Petrovich Zakharchenko and the memorial sign, and then a rally dedicated to this solemn date is held on Victory Square. "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten…"
To summarize what has been said, we can conclude: patriotism is not blind love, but a conscious sense of duty and responsibility to the Motherland, devotion to one’s native land.
LIFE VALUES
1
Life values - a kind of wealth that a person accumulates throughout his life. These values can be material, moral, cultural, but only moral ones are true, namely love and family. To prove this thesis, I will turn to the text of A.G. Aleksin and life experience.
To prove the correctness of the thesis expressed, I will take sentences 34-37. They describe a conversation between household members, the meaning of which, at first glance, is complex, but in fact is very simple: parents and their son talk about love, about right love, and caring for others (the boy takes care of his older sister), who did not allow the boy becomes selfish.
To confirm my idea that family is the main value in life, I will give an example from life experience. Family is something that I value very much. My family will always support me in difficult times, tell me the right choice, console me when I feel bad, and help me when obstacles stand in my way.
Thus, after analyzing two arguments, I was convinced that family and love of loved ones are the basis of our life: we cannot do without them, since they are the spiritual wealth of every person.

Life values a person has a lot. These are cultural, material, socio-political, and moral values. They are all important in their own way.
However, it seems to me that the most important things for a person are moral ones, especially family. In a family, a person is born, grows, is raised, and absorbs the feelings of love, respect, and kindness that surround him. Then he tries to create his own family and repeat the same chain of life. To prove this thesis, let us turn to the text of A.G. Aleksin and life experience.
As the first argument confirming my point of view, let’s take sentences 3 and 4. They tell us that main character born into a friendly family, was surrounded by the love of loved ones and their adoration. Thanks to these best human feelings, the boy grew up very a good man thinking not only about themselves, but also about others.
The second argument in favor of my opinion will be an example from life experience. As a rule, children born into a good and loving family grow up to be kind and sincere people. And the families themselves, in which the feeling of love for each other does not extinguish, are considered happy. There is no doubt in my family: the love of loved ones is the main value in life.
Having considered two arguments, we came to the conclusion: family is the most important value in life. There is nothing better than the confidence that your family and friends are waiting for you at home. And no amount of money can replace this!

MOTHER'S LOVE
8.6
1.
What is mother's love? This is the purest, most sincere and strong love. This is free love. After all, a mother loves her child, not because he did something, but because it is her child.
I believe that mother's love is not only love for her child, but also for other children. This is explained by the fact that a mother’s heart is like a bottomless cup of tenderness, care, attention, in which there is room for love for all children. For evidence, let us turn to the text of Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and to life experience.
For example, in sentence 36, the narrator, who was “tormented by inhuman thirst,” calls a strange woman mom, asking her for water. The “stranger” woman gives the narrator water and supports him as if she were her own. This once again proves the generosity of all mothers, their boundless love.
I would also like to recall the poem “Heart” by D. Kedrin that I recently read. A Cossack, having cut his mother's chest with a blade, brings the girl a mother's heart as a gift. But on the porch he fell, and his mother’s heart fell out of her hands. But despite everything, the mother’s heart asked her son if he had hurt himself. This act of the “heart” shows the enormous power of mother’s love: she forgave him.
Thus, we have proven the enormous “size” of mothers’ hearts, in which there is a place not only for their own children, but also for other people’s children who need their maternal help. We realized that a mother's love is limitless.

2.
Mother's love, in my opinion, is the most wonderful feeling in the world. It can work miracles, bring you back to life and save you in difficult times.
I believe that maternal love is a broader concept than just love for your own child. Love, namely maternal love, has no boundaries. To support my point of view, I can cite the following evidence from the text of Yu.Ya. Yakovlev and life experience.
As the first argument for the correctness of the stated thesis, let’s take sentence 36. It says that a stranger’s mother showed her love and care for someone else’s child. It is in this sentence, it seems to me, that the meaning of boundless love is revealed.
As a second argument to prove my opinion about what maternal love is, I would like to give an example from life. In the maternity hospital, someone else's mother did not have milk to feed the child. The child cried very much, but since my mother felt very sorry for him and she had a lot of milk, she decided to help: she happily fed someone else’s child, as well as her daughter, my sister.
To summarize what has been said, we can conclude: maternal love is a great force that helps us in the most difficult moments of life. A mother’s love is all-encompassing: it is enough for both her own and other people’s children.

What is patriotism? The concept of patriotism is different for everyone. First of all, it is love for one’s country, a special emotional feeling of belonging to it, a feeling of pride in it. This is a state of mind, a sense of duty and responsibility to your native land, where you were born, grew up, where you spent your childhood. Patriotism is a synonym for the word “respect”. Respects his country, language, flag, people. And, most likely, this is the key to our future well-being. A country with patriots is a prosperous country.
Our president ON THE. Nazarbayev said: “At a time when there are explosions and machine gun fire all around, when children and women are dying, when the whole world is devastated by terrorist attacks, peace and tranquility reign in Kazakhstan. This is our merit. And this is recognized by the most outstanding people in Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. This is recognized by the United Nations. It is difficult to find such an example of mutual respect in a multinational country in the modern world. This is the greatest value, and I am truly proud that we were able to become such an example.”
The president ON THE. Nazarbayev is considering the idea of patriotism as the main element of the strategic development of Kazakhstan in the long term. And this is, of course, because we're talking about on national security, sovereignty and integrity of countries. The strategic development of the country to a certain, even perhaps to a decisive extent, depends on how we instill in Kazakhstanis a sense of patriotism, love for the Fatherland, the Motherland. And each of us must understand the importance of this issue.
For many centuries, our ancestors, being in harsh conditions, defended their lands, and today the new state created on the ancient land - the Republic of Kazakhstan - has taken its rightful place in the world community.
I want to quote the words of my favorite writer, the legendary son of the Kazakh people Bauyrzhan Momyshuly: “The exploits of the glorious Kazakh batyrs should become a tradition for modern horsemen. If the Kazakhs were brought up with fighting qualities from the cradle, can we say that this people is not incapable? “Everything good in the past of the Kazakh people must triumph in the present.”
Bauyrzhan Momyshuly highly valued the noble traditions of the Kazakh people, nurturing the fighting qualities of horsemen. Many of the writer’s sayings became aphorisms that were deeply rooted in the people. The school of life raised this man as a firm, unshakable hero, an honest, sensitive writer, who is my ideal of a true warrior, an ardent patriot.
The word “patriotism” is translated from Greek as compatriot or fatherland. Famous publicist, journalist P.G. Chernyshevsky stated: “ A patriot is a person who serves his homeland, and the homeland is, first of all, the people.”... American politician Theodore Roosevelt believed: “It is important that you are ready to die for your country; but what’s more important is that you be willing to live life for it.”
Patriotism for me- this is pride in the achievements and culture of one’s homeland, the desire to preserve its cultural characteristics, the desire to protect the interests of the homeland and one’s people. Kazakhstani patriotism is based on respect for all traditional religions professed by the peoples of our country and is based on deep traditions of interreligious dialogue and tolerance. Although first of all it is love and respect for the state symbols of the Republic. These images are the source of creating a patriotic image of the state and are a source of national pride.
The 21st century is a century of progress, new technologies, scientific discoveries and the rapid development of all humanity. In our time, the lines of decency have begun to blur, human qualities have begun to disappear, standards and stereotypes have changed, traditions and customs have been forgotten. The age of cold, calculating cynicism has arrived.
Patriotism– it’s like elections: the free will of people, and at the same time, civic duty. Only a person with high self-awareness can develop such a high feeling. Love for the homeland should be instilled from childhood, in the family, in kindergarten, then at school, at university. Patriotism begins to form in the family, where the image of the Motherland and attitude towards it are embedded in the child’s consciousness. IN adolescence, student years a person is formed as a personality, and his life principles are affirmed.
For patriotism you need know the history of your country, are proud of your ancestors, strive to be worthy of them. We, modern Kazakhstanis, have something to be proud of: an open, good-natured, tolerant people; beautiful nature; rich story; high intellectual potential; promising, educated youth and much more.
We must appreciate and preserve the historical and cultural heritage countries. Kazakh fairy tales and legends always amaze with their plot and originality. What about the art of song and dance? Listening to music based on poems by talented poets, accompanied by the sound of folk instruments, you imagine endless steppes, light blue skies, a light breeze slightly swaying the green fragrant grass. The history of the Republic of Kazakhstan is also extremely interesting and rich. Our ancestors proudly and bravely went into battle for their native land for the sake of a happy and bright future, for the sake of our future. The people will always be proud and honor the memory of the heroes.
Unfortunately, patriotism is often confused with nationalism, and as a result of which a negative attitude towards this concept arises. For me, an example of patriotism and a decent attitude towards one’s native land is the earthquake in Japan. When the Japanese helped each other in an organized manner, there was no looting. This made it possible to talk about Japan as a highly developed, image-conscious, organized country.
Patriot is a person who loves his homeland and his people. But how do you understand that you are truly a patriot of your Motherland? Every person should love his homeland, because here is his family, his home, the land on which he was born and raised. From my point of view, it is simply impossible not to love the Motherland.
For a person, the homeland is a native and most beloved place, a repository of all the warmest memories. Our childhood passed here, and childhood is the most extraordinary time of life, which will forever remain in everyone’s memory as something bright, cheerful, filled with laughter and joy.
Homeland is not just a word. These are vast expanses that can fit in my small heart. The homeland cannot be touched or felt, but it can be felt. This is an eternity, and we are small particles. This is a big mechanism, and we, each individually and all together, are its vital cogs and bolts. This is how I understand my Motherland!
Heroic defense of the Motherland, Fatherland is the tradition of our multinational state with deep roots. The people of Kazakhstan honor the names of their faithful sons and staunch defenders of the Fatherland: Abylay, Abulkhair, Raiymbek, Nauryzbai, etc.
I, as a patriot of my Motherland, am proud of our President, of the centuries-old tolerance of my people, of the children who live in such a wonderful state!

Essay on the topic of:
"My understanding of patriotism"
The topic of patriotism has now acquired particular relevance. This is due to Russia’s restoration of its former influence in the world. Today, young people most often associate patriotism with military service, but important aspects of the civil understanding of the term patriotism are discounted. Patriotism is a moral and political principle, a social feeling, the content of which is love for the homeland and the willingness to sacrifice one’s interests for its sake. In Political Science encyclopedic dictionary The categories “patriot” and “patriotism” are presented. A patriot is defined as a person who subordinates his life to the interests of society. Patriotism is interpreted as an emotional attitude towards the Motherland, expressed in readiness to serve it. Patriotism can be called the spiritual core, the moral basis of the individual, which determines his active civic position and sincere desire, the need for worthy socially significant self-expression, selfless, even self-sacrifice, service to his people, the Motherland. I see it in many of my contemporaries - this is Elizaveta Glinka (Dr. Lisa), andLeonidRoshal- doctor of the world, pediatric surgeon, member of the Public Chamber, founder of the “Give Life” charity foundation Chulpan Khamatova, Russian officer Alexander Prokhorenko, caring volunteers who rushed to help after the explosion (04/03/2017) in the St. Petersburg metro, our Novoshakhtiny residents improving not only their lives, but also the lives of their neighbors , townspeople, their small homeland. Patriotism is proven not by word, but by deed. Let there be as much as possiblepeople who care what happens around them. People who know their history: they are proud of some things and ashamed of others, because they have a conscience. They help the elderly, the disabled, environmentalists - everyone they can and in any way they can. And they become citizens, patriots who bring real benefits to their country.
Having moved into the third millennium, we can talk about the significance of the phenomenon of patriotism for Russian state, society and its various institutions, each person individually. It is the unity and harmony of interests and goals that open up new sources of creative social energy of patriotism.I agree with the opinion of Patriarch Alexy II: « Patriotism is undoubtedly relevant. This is a feeling that makes the people and every person responsible for the life of the country. Without patriotism there is no such responsibility. If I don’t think about my people, then I have no home, no roots. Because a home is not only comfort, it is also responsibility for order in it... A person without patriotism, in fact, does not have his own country.”
Reflecting on the topic: “How do I understand the word patriotism,” I would like to start from the definition of the concept itself. So, from Greek, patriotism means compatriot, homeland, fatherland, that is, patriotism is a complex concept that at the same time implies love for the Fatherland, one’s country, the land where one was born, this is the desire to improve it and make the country prosperous.
What do you understand by patriotism
However, in my understanding, patriotism is much broader. To the question, how do you understand the meaning of the word patriotism, what do you understand by patriotism, I would like to answer the following. It is also love for its history, this desire to defend the country, if necessary, this is devotion to the country, its people, this is the desire to glorify the Motherland, this is respect for veterans and monuments.
Today the issue of patriotic education is very acute and there are problems here. Very often we hear how the younger generation destroys historical monuments, very often the monuments are in an abandoned state, veterans, of whom there are very, very few left, are treated with disrespect, and may even forget about their existence, remembering them only on May 9th. All this is not an integral part of patriotism, such people can hardly be called patriots, but I want that in the twenty-first century patriotism does not lose its meaning, so that it does not fade into the background, I want time not to erase one of the most significant assets from the face of the earth the soul of humanity - patriotism.
Arguing further on the topic: “How do you understand the word patriotism,” in your essay I would like to mention such a feeling as pride. I believe that pride is an important component of patriotism, because a true patriot is always proud of his country, he rejoices at any victories of his country, be it a medal at the Olympic Games, or the victory of his native team in a football match. This is the pride that we feel when we hear stories about the great victory that our great-grandfathers achieved at the cost of their lives.
If there is such joy and pride for the country, then all is not lost and everything can still be made up, fortunately, today various events are being held that are aimed at patriotic education the younger generation, which means we will not forget about patriotism, without which our ancestors would never have won the war. As a result, we will not lose our past.
Fast passage:
Option 1
Love for the Motherland, strong and sincere, pushing a person to heroic deeds and making him capable of sacrificing personal interests for the good of his country. This is what is usually meant by the concept of “patriotism”. And the most striking example of the manifestation of such a feeling is traditionally considered to be the behavior demonstrated by soldiers of the Russian army during the Second World War.
Indeed, the dedication with which these people defended our country and our future is admirable. Many of them did not give up and did not retreat even in the face of death. Such was, for example, the young submachine gunner Alexander Matrosov, who covered the embrasure of an enemy bunker with his body, thereby allowing a detachment of Russian soldiers to emerge from the ambush and continue attacking the enemy.
And how many Russian girls and boys there were who voluntarily went to partisan detachments! Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, Lenya Golikov, Zina Portnova. We know the names of only a few of them, but we remember how great the role of these brave young heroes was in the fate of our country.
Patriotism is a great feeling that manifests itself not only in the military, but also in Peaceful time. For example, athletes who compete at the Olympic Games also demonstrate selfless love for their homeland.
It takes many of them years to prepare for such competitions, and sometimes even whole life. During the period of intensive training, athletes absolutely do not spare themselves and work to the limit of their capabilities. And all this just to glorify the honor of their country.
People who come to such competitions and cheer for our Olympians, football players or hockey players are also patriots in their own way. Perhaps there is some demonstrativeness in their behavior, but, nevertheless, they spend their personal time supporting their native athletes, giving them gifts, organizing fan clubs, etc. And this is also expensive!
Option 2
Patriotism is a feeling when you love your homeland and are ready to make it better. In my understanding, a patriot should be proud of the successes of his homeland and should be ready to sacrifice his interests for its sake. I think that a true patriot should not only love his country, but try to make it better.
Patriotism is especially important for a country during war years, when the nation simply must unite to repel the enemy. This was clearly demonstrated during the Great Patriotic War when millions of citizens of our country died to defend their homeland from the Nazis. They sacrificed not only their interests, but also their lives.
Not everyone likes patriotism, as it has in some cases negative sides, for example, the emergence of racism or chauvinism. One of the most famous people who did not like patriotism was Leo Tolstoy.
There are also so-called false patriots who shout at every step about love for their homeland, but they themselves have dual citizenship, a house abroad and all the money, often stolen from the state treasury, is taken there.
